One very unassuming night back in the late 1990s, my parents surprised me with a brand new Yamaha PSR-530 keyboard. It was BEAUTIFUL. Not only did it have pressure-sensitive keys, but it also had expansion cartridges with different sounds that were inserted into the piano like a Sega Genesis game.

I had never asked for a piano. Every time I would visit my grandmother's house (which was conveniently across the street) I would play on a Casio keyboard that my aunt had. The Casio was much simpler than the Yamaha but one thing it did have was keys that lit up to teach you how to play a few songs. Of course, I tried to learn how to play Fur Elise.
A few years later during my junior/senior year in high school, I had gotten really into music and started experimenting with audio recording and sequencing software. I honestly can't remember what I was searching for online, but I ended up installing ModPlug Tracker. It's awesome to see that even today (as of July 2023) that their forums are still active with people using this awesome software.
Below, you'll find the very first track I've ever recorded! It features samples I recorded directly from the Yamaha PSR-530's 1/4" jack into my computer's soundcard.
